We are thrilled to announce that Doyeon Ryu, an undergraduate student in our lab, has been honored with the prestigious “Gachon Pride Award” from Gachon University. This recognition comes in celebration of her remarkable achievement: publishing a first-author SCI paper in a JCR top 7% journal with an Impact Factor of 6.4—an exceptional accomplishment for an undergraduate researcher. Her research quantitatively compared various energy-saving strategies for large-scale office buildings using EnergyPlus simulation. The study revealed that ventilation-focused approaches yield the most significant energy reductions among the evaluated methods. We congratulate Doyeon on this outstanding achievement and look forward to her continued success in the field of building energy research!

저희 연구실의 학부연구생 유도연 학생이 가천대학교에서 수여하는 ‘자랑스러운 가천인상’을 수상하였습니다. 이번 수상은 학부생 신분으로 JCR 상위 7%, Impact Factor 6.4의 SCI 저널에 제1저자로 논문을 게재한 뛰어난 성과를 인정받은 것입니다. 해당 논문은 EnergyPlus 시뮬레이션을 활용하여 대형 오피스 건물의 다양한 에너지 절감 방안을 정량적으로 비교 분석하였으며, 그 결과 환기 중심의 절감 방안이 가장 큰 에너지 절감 효과를 나타낸다는 것을 밝혀냈습니다. 유도연 학생의 훌륭한 성과를 축하하며, 앞으로의 연구 활동에서도 좋은 결실이 있기를 기대합니다!

The agreement was attended by Wookyung Kim, Director of Gachon University Gil Medical Center, Wonjae Yoo, Professor at Gachon University’s College of IT, and Jinhyun Kim, CEO of E8ight. The participating institutions agreed to utilize E8ight’s technology to provide smart hospital solutions incorporating clinical decision support systems and digital twins, aiming to streamline and enhance the efficiency of medical workflows. Gachon University Gil Medical Center will collaborate with E8ight in various areas, including hospital asset management and cloud-based EMR integration systems. Additionally, Gachon University will work with E8ight on joint research projects involving digital twins and foster talent to lead the future digital era.

협약에는 김우경 가천대 길병원장, 유원재 가천대학교 IT대학 교수, 김진현 이에이트 대표가 참여해 이에이트의 기술을 활용하여 임상진단보조시스템과 디지털 트윈이 적용된 스마트 병원 솔루션을 제공하고, 의료진의 워크플로우를 간소화하고 효율화하는 데 협력하기로 했다. 가천대 길병원은 이에이트와 병원의 자산 운영 및 관리 시스템, 클라우드 기반 EMR 통합 시스템 등 다양한 분야에서 협업하기로 했으며, 가천대학교의 스마트시티학과는 디지털 트윈 공동 연구 과제 수행 등 미래 디지털 시대를 이끌 인재 양성에 협력하기로 했다.

I successfully defended my dissertation on May 17, 2022, and officially graduated on August 6, 2022. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my advisor, Dr. Mark J.
